The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Star for Claude
Tired of scrolling through a long Claude.ai conversation to find that one important answer?
Star for Claude adds a small star button to every message. Star the ones that matter, and a floating side panel keeps a clickable table-of-contents in view. Click any star to smooth-scroll straight back to the original message.
Features
- Star or unstar any message in any Claude.ai conversation with one click
- Floating "Starred" side panel — works like a table of contents
- Click a star to jump back; the extension handles long, virtualized chats correctly
- Per-conversation count and a one-click "clear stars in this conversation" button
- Optional sync across your Chrome devices via your Google account (chrome.storage.sync)
- Light / dark mode aware
- No tracking, no analytics, no external servers — your stars stay in your browser
How to use
1. Open any conversation on claude.ai
2. Hover any message → click the star that appears next to Claude's copy/edit buttons
3. The star shows up in the "Starred" side panel on the right
4. Click the entry to jump back, or click × to remove it
Storage choice
Open the panel's ⚙ settings to switch between:
- This device only (default) — stars stay in this browser
- Sync across devices — stars follow you to other Chromes signed into the same Google account
Privacy
The extension stores only what is needed for the feature itself: a conversation id, the message index, a ~120-character text snippet, the role, and a timestamp. Nothing is sent to any server beyond Chrome's own sync (when you opt in). Full policy: https://jaeyoonchun.github.io/star-for-claude/PRIVACY.html
