The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About StackTabs
StackTabs is a tab management extension built for heavy, multi-window browser users. It helps you tuck away pages you're not using right now but don't want to lose, quickly find tabs scattered across multiple windows, and organize important links long-term using spaces and groups.
Key Features:
Quick Search: Press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+K to bring up a popup that searches both open tabs and saved pages at once — hit Enter to jump to or open a result.
Stash Windows: Save the current window as a snapshot and close its regular tabs, then restore it with one click later. Great for temporary projects, research sessions, and read-later material.
Group Management: Organize saved pages by spaces and groups in the management page, with drag-and-drop reordering, moving items across groups, and opening an entire group at once.
Open Tabs View: See all tabs across every window in one place, and drag the ones you want to keep into a group.
Local-First Backup: Data is stored locally in your browser by default, with the option to export a JSON backup.
Optional Remote Sync: For cross-device use, connect Google Drive, GitHub Gist, or WebDAV to store your StackTabs sync file.
Language Support: Available in Chinese and English, with automatic detection based on your browser language, or manual switching in settings.
StackTabs is a good fit if you:
Regularly work across multiple windows and a large number of tabs
Want to clear out a window after finishing research, without losing track of it later
Want a single search entry point to find pages you currently have open or previously saved
Want to keep project material, learning resources, read-later items, and everyday tools organized separately
Data & Privacy:
By default, StackTabs only stores information about tabs you actively save or stash — locally on your machine — including page URL, title, and favicon. Remote sync is optional: only after you configure a sync provider will the extension write your StackTabs sync file to the Google Drive, GitHub Gist, or WebDAV location you choose. StackTabs is not used for ad tracking, does not sell user data, and does not send data to any sync service other than the one you choose.
