About Sound Enhancer 98
🔊 **Sound Enhancer 98 — A classic desktop mixer for your browser.**
Turn up quiet videos, fine-tune your music, and give every website its own sound settings—all in a nostalgic Windows 98 interface.
🎚️ **Take control of your audio**
- **Volume up to 1000%:** Adjust precisely or jump to 100%, 200%, 500%, or 1000%.
- **Independent tab controls:** Change one connected tab’s volume while others keep their settings.
- **Website profiles:** Save your preferences and restore them when you reconnect that website.
- **Bass, treble and balance:** Shape your sound with tone adjustments from −12 to +12 dB and stereo balance.
- **Sound presets:** Try Bass boost, Clear voice, or Movie night.
- **Optional limiter:** Reduce audio peaks to help limit clipping.
- **Live output meter:** See your connected tab’s audio activity.
- **Separate mixer window:** Pop out the controls and keep them within reach while browsing.
🔒 **Local audio processing**
Your audio is processed on your device—never recorded or uploaded. Website profiles are stored locally in Chrome.
Open a website playing audio, click the extension, and choose **Connect this tab** to get started.
Start at 100% and increase gradually. High gain can cause distortion; perceived loudness depends on the source and limiter settings. Controls apply to supported Chrome tab audio. Some protected media cannot be captured.
