About SOCKS Proxy per Site
Send only the sites you choose through a SOCKS proxy. Everything else keeps going out directly, at full speed — unlike a system-wide proxy or a VPN that captures all traffic.
HOW IT WORKS
Add a domain, pick a profile, done. The extension builds a PAC (proxy auto-configuration) script on the fly, so Chrome itself decides per request whether it goes through the proxy or straight out. No traffic is intercepted or inspected by the extension.
FEATURES
• Multiple proxy profiles — different sites through different proxies, each with its own host, port and type.
• SOCKS5 and SOCKS4 support.
• SOCKS5 resolves host names on the proxy side, which avoids DNS leaks; SOCKS4 resolves them locally. The proxy type says which, with no contradictory options.
• Wildcard domain patterns:
example.com — that host only
*.example.com — the domain and every subdomain
192.168.* — an IP prefix
• Overlap detection — warns you instead of silently adding a rule another pattern already covers.
• "Test connection" button per profile, with specific diagnostics: refused connection, failed SOCKS handshake, DNS failure, timeout, and more.
• Per-tab badge showing "ON" when the site in front of you is actually being proxied.
• One global on/off switch.
• Light and dark themes, following your system or set manually.
• Keyboard accessible, screen-reader labelled throughout.
PRIVACY
No accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, no backend. Your profiles and domain lists stay in local extension storage on your own device. The extension runs no proxy server of its own — you point it at a proxy you control and trust.
NOTE
You need your own SOCKS proxy (for example an SSH tunnel: ssh -D 1080 user@host). This extension does not provide proxy servers.
