Snifff

Snifff rates cosmetic ingredient lists while you shop on supported Indian beauty retailer product pages. It shows a score out of 100, a product tier and a breakdown of the ingredients that shaped the rating against EU and Indian cosmetic regulation. Open an ingredient for its assessment and regulatory context. Pregnancy and nursing guidance is about the product's ingredients, not about you. Snifff supports cosmetic product pages on Nykaa, Tira, Purplle and Sephora India. After you agree to the in-extension privacy notice, it reads the product's ingredient list and may send public product evidence to the Snifff scoring service. This can include brand and product name, category, retailer IDs, selected and discovered options, clean product and variant URLs, public prices, availability, aggregate ratings and counts, and public product-image links. Product-level observations, ingredient text and assessment details are retained privately to support ratings and Snifff's product database. The extension also sends its version, a shared source-build fingerprint and installation type to help diagnose extraction issues. Product titles and clean product URLs are disclosed as Web history. The service temporarily processes the network IP for rate limiting and retains only a salted hash counter for less than one hour. URL query strings and fragments, review text and authors are excluded. Snifff has no user accounts and stores no personal name, email, user, session, device or extension runtime ID. If the page does not expose a complete text ingredient list, Snifff shows an unavailable or partial result; you can paste the ingredient list yourself. Full ingredient-list image OCR is disabled. Conditional concentration OCR may use an audited Nykaa product image with Google Cloud Vision; images from Tira, Purplle and Sephora India are not used for OCR.
