About Snapfit — Fullscreen Video in Your Browser Window
Snapfit changes what a video's fullscreen button does when your browser window is not maximized.
Normally, pressing fullscreen on a video takes over your entire display, even if Chrome only occupies half of it. With Snapfit, the video expands to fill the Chrome window instead, and whatever you have open beside it stays visible and usable.
HOW TO USE
1. Resize the Chrome window so it is not maximized. On Windows, press Win + Left Arrow to snap it to half the screen.
2. Open a video (for example on YouTube) in a new tab, or reload a tab that was already open.
3. Click the player's fullscreen button or press F.
The video fills the Chrome window only. Press Esc or click the fullscreen button again to exit.
MODES (click the Snapfit toolbar icon)
- Auto (default): normal fullscreen when the window is maximized, fit-to-window when it is not.
- Fit window: always fill just the browser window, even when maximized.
- Full display: always use Chrome's normal fullscreen.
Your choice is saved and applies to all tabs immediately.
GOOD TO KNOW
- Chrome's tab bar and address bar stay visible in fit-to-window mode. The video fills the page area of the window, not the entire half of your monitor. Extensions cannot hide Chrome's toolbar without going full display.
- Tabs that were open before installing need one reload.
- Some players with heavy copy protection (for example Netflix) may not resize correctly. Switch to Full display for those sites.
- Snapfit does not resize or arrange your windows. It only changes how fullscreen behaves inside the window.
PRIVACY
Snapfit collects no data and makes no network requests. The only thing it stores is your mode choice.
