About Smart Trader - trading tools for Steam
Smart Trader adds trading tools to Steam's own web pages, for your own account and items.
Trade offers
• Summaries of every offer: stacks with counts; on a click, market prices of both sides and the difference
• Big offers fold to their biggest stacks; "Show all" brings the rest
• Quick accept for the offers you choose, with a trade-hold check first; a monitor follows each accept to its result
• Desktop alerts with a short sound for new incoming offers and for finished trades
• Offer value: what you get minus what you give by your price source ("+$x" green, "−$x" red, "≈" while a price is
missing), a sum over the list and "Sort the offers" by profit — a hint only; Quick accept and auto accept never use it
Trade window
• Add N items, keys, metal, tickets or gems; take whole trading card sets (any number, chosen games, or sets you can
still craft) — only the draft changes, you send the offer yourself
• Market prices in the summaries, marks for items already in another active offer
• Stackable items of other games can be added by number, part of a stack as the site's own amount dialog does it
• Each side's summary has a copy button (the whole list with the totals); rows without a price are red; keys, tickets
and gems count in the side's total at their cash price
Inventory and Community Market
• Stacks of equal items, item marks, a price list beside the inventory with totals
• Big inventories: "Rows per inventory page" from 5×5 up to 5×200, whole-inventory loads paced under the site's own
limit with the wait shown; optionally in minutes through an external inventory service with your own key (off by
default, under the one box of the optional services; the cost is shown before the first call, a daily cap protects
your balance)
• Trade locks on the tiles of every game ("⏳4d", not tradable, trade protection)
• CS2 items: wear, float and Doppler phase on each tile and under each classic market listing; a 3D button (inventory
item card, classic market listing pages, trade window) opens an external 3D viewer page inside a Smart Trader window
(one window, reused) or, if you choose, in a new tab — only when you click it, with only the item's inspect link;
Details shows the exact float, pattern seed and phase, decoded on your computer
• Selling: "Review first" shows every price and the sums before anything is listed, or "Sell as prices come in"
after a warning; quick sell from the order book; minimum and maximum prices per kind; an item whose listing still
waits for your confirmation is never listed again
• Card sets: complete sets, leftover cards, badge levels and the price of a set; crafting badges from sets after you
confirm a plan with the XP and the levels
• "My listings" tools: search, sort, remove, relist
• Order book on an item's market page (classic layout) in place of the five-row tables: any of the market's currencies
(converted by Steam), "Seller gets" after the fees for each listing, "You get" for each buy order, the step from the
price before, more rows on request or the whole book; each column has its own switch
• Fear & greed index beside "Listings" for items with enough data: a gauge, a 30-day line and, on hover or focus, its
components (momentum, buy pressure, scarcity, volume, spread, volatility). Worked out on your computer from the
page's price history and order book; it keeps a small history of the order book in your browser and sends nothing.
An indicator, not advice: nothing is bought or sold because of it
• The classic market pages instead of the beta layout, on by default for new installations
History, profiles and store
• Item details and pictures in the trade and inventory history, held trades, search
• Partner reputation from community reputation sites — off until you tick the one box "Third-party services and
sites" (unticked on the first page); only the partner's public SteamID64 is sent (to one of these sites together
with your own cookies for it, needed to pass its bot check)
• Partner check buttons on trade offers, sent offers and the trade history: links that open the partner's page on a
reputation site in a new tab when you click one (nothing is asked of these sites before); each button has its own
switch, and the offers pages' own "Report" flag is hidden by default (a setting brings it back)
• Store prices in other regions, package ids, cart history
Price providers (several at once, in order — price presets; or one main source with presets off)
• KEYS.LAND cash prices of TF2 keys, tickets and gems: on from the start and used with any preset or source; when
its site cannot be reached, the latest prices are read from its public channel page (under the one box below),
marked with the post's time
• Preset 1 by default: KEYS.LAND → an external price database → the Community Market → a marketplace's price list, as
cash — the source higher in the list prices an item first, the next ones what it has no price of; your own presets,
each with its own order
• Market prices as the market price, as cash after the cash-out fee or as the balance you would receive (cash while
the key prices above are on)
• Optional, off until you tick the one box "Third-party services and sites" (unticked on the first page; the list
under it names every service and site it allows): an external price database (market sales prices of a whole game
at once; only the game and the time window are sent; once on, it is the default main source), a price service with
your own API key, and the public price lists of third-party marketplaces (only the request for the file is sent)
• API keys are entered only on the extension's options page and kept by its background part; web pages never see
them, and each key is sent only to its own service
• Faster prices: for games and items the price database does not cover, market prices come from the market's search,
many items per request; an item with no or few sales in the database's chosen period take…
