The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About SkuSum: Amazon profit by SKU & settlement reconciliation
Your Amazon payout is one number. Your books need it split into twelve.
Drop an Amazon Settlement Flat File V2 into SkuSum and get the split: every line categorized, a balanced double-entry journal for bookkeeper review, and a total that ties to the settlement payout.
One file is enough for the first run. The V2 settlement can be CSV, XLS or XLSX.
WHAT YOU GET FROM THE SETTLEMENT ALONE
- Every settlement line classified: principal, shipping, gift wrap, referral and FBA fees, storage, refunds, reimbursements, promotions, reserves, marketplace facilitator tax, FX and adjustments.
- A balanced generic journal CSV, with debits equal to credits and draft account names you can rename to match your chart of accounts.
- A settlement breakdown that ties to the payout, so you can see which category moved when the payout changed.
- A review bucket listing exceptions worth a human look before you use the journal.
PROCESS MORE THAN ONE PAYOUT
Select or drag several settlement files together. SkuSum keeps the payouts separate and prepares a journal for each one. A settlement with a blocking exception is held back without discarding the clean ones.
XERO DRAFT EXPORT
SkuSum also provides a separate CSV formatted as a Xero manual-journal draft. Enter your actual Xero base currency and account codes for the client workspace, and acknowledge that tax needs review before export. The draft leaves TaxRate blank. Check the account mapping, tax treatment and balance in Xero before posting.
SkuSum does not connect to Xero or post journals for you. The generic journal is not a ready-to-import QuickBooks template; QuickBooks users can use it as a reviewable guide for entering the journal.
ADD MORE FILES ONLY IF YOU WANT MORE
- Add the Orders (or Business) report for gross sales, Amazon fees and margin per SKU, and to see which SKUs lost money.
- Add the Advertising report to see profit after ad spend.
- Add your own two-column cost file for true profit after cost of goods.
The settlement remains the source for the payout. Optional files add SKU detail; the cost file can also add separate COGS entries.
IT STOPS INSTEAD OF GUESSING
If SkuSum meets a fee type it does not recognize, it refuses to export the affected journal and names the line. A tool that guesses can give you a journal that balances and is still wrong. You can map an unknown type yourself, and SkuSum will remember that mapping in your browser.
NOTHING IS UPLOADED
Every calculation runs in your own browser. There is no account or login, your reports are not sent to a server, and the extension requests no permissions. Your files leave the tab only as exports you save yourself.
PRICING
Every feature is unlocked while the tool is being validated. Free use covers your own books and the books of the business you work for. Using SkuSum and its exports in paid client work requires a Bookkeeper license. During validation, that license is free to practitioners who tell us what the tool gets wrong on one real settlement.
Founding Pro is $49 one-time. Bookkeeper Founding is $199 per year. See skusum.com/pricing.html for details and the planned Free and Pro feature tiers.
Made for Amazon sellers who want to know which SKUs actually make money, and for the bookkeepers who have to make the deposit agree with the books.
