The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About SiteTell: AI Writing Checker for Web Pages
Does your page sound like AI wrote it? SiteTell tells you in about a second, and shows you why.
Click the SiteTell icon on any web page. It reads the copy, gives it a score out of 100 with a letter grade, and lists every phrase and pattern that reads as AI-generic, with the offending text quoted. Press Highlight on page and each flag lights up where it sits in the copy. No hunting.
WHAT IT CHECKS
SiteTell runs 114 rules built from how AI-drafted copy actually reads:
- Buzzwords, filler phrases and chatbot leftovers, the kind of sign-off an assistant adds at the end of an answer.
- Rhythm. Sentences that all run to one length. Paragraphs cut to the same size. Copy with hardly a comma in it.
- Rhetorical habits: not-this-but-that framing, hedging that never lands on a side, and praise clauses tacked onto the end of sentences.
- Formatting, like pages that are mostly bullets or bold text everywhere.
Each flag names its rule, its category and how much it cost the score, so you always know why the number is what it is.
A QUALITY CHECK, HONESTLY LABELLED
An AI content detector guesses at who (or what) wrote a page. SiteTell doesn't try. It flags the patterns readers notice and skim past, whoever typed them, so you know what to rewrite.
SAME ENGINE AS GETSITETELL.COM
By default the extension fetches the page's server HTML and scores it exactly the way the getsitetell.com crawler does; the number matches your dashboard. For pages built with JavaScript you can also score the page as it's displayed, and the popup always says which of the two you're looking at.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Pages are scored on your device. There's no account, no analytics and no server behind the extension. Nothing you read, and no address you visit, gets sent anywhere. SiteTell only looks at a tab when you click its icon on that tab.
CHECK THE WHOLE SITE
One page is a sample. When you want the full picture, SiteTell links to a free site scan on getsitetell.com with no signup: every page crawled and scored, with your weakest pages ranked first. Suggested rewrites for every flag cost a one-time $20 per site.
WHO USES IT
Copywriters checking a draft before it ships. Marketers reviewing work from an agency or freelancer. Founders who wrote the first version of their landing page with ChatGPT and want to know what still gives it away. SEO teams auditing content quality page by page.
