Simple Key Remap lets you move a website's built-in keyboard shortcuts to the keys you prefer, one site at a time.
FEATURES
• Record shortcuts by pressing them — no typing key names
• Remaps are saved per website and apply automatically every time you return
• The original shortcut is turned off on that site, so the keys are free for other uses
• Edit or delete any remap at any time
• Follows your system's light or dark appearance; available in English and Traditional Chinese
HOW TO USE
1. Open the website and click the Simple Key Remap icon in the toolbar
2. Click "Add shortcut" and give it a name, for example "Toggle Sidebar"
3. Click the original shortcut field and press the site's shortcut, for example ⌘B
4. Click the new shortcut field and press the combination you want to use, for example ⇧⌘B, then click Save
5. The new shortcut works on that site right away. If the tab was already open before you installed the extension, reload it once.
LIMITATIONS
• Browser shortcuts such as ⌘T, ⌘W and ⌘Q can't be recorded or changed
• Works with shortcuts the website handles itself; a few sites may not respond to remapped keys
PRIVACY
Your remaps (their names, the shortcuts, and the website addresses you set them for) are stored in your browser and synced through your Chrome account when Chrome sync is on. Exported backup files are saved only to your own computer. Nothing is sent to the developer or to any third party.
PERMISSIONS
• "Read and change all your data on all websites" — needed so your remapped shortcuts can work on whichever website you set them for. The extension does not read page content; it only reacts to the shortcuts you have configured.
v1.1 Update
Export all your remaps to a file and import them again, to back up or move them to another computer
