The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Signal – Research Intelligence Tracker
Signal turns Chrome's side panel into an intelligence feed for the researchers you follow.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Open a researcher's profile.
2. Signal detects them in the side panel. Google Scholar profiles are read instantly, for free.
3. Click "+ Track". TinyFish web agents gather their recent papers, citation activity, grants, patents, and industry collaborations.
4. Signal re-checks everyone you track once a day and notifies you when a new paper appears.
WHAT YOU GET PER RESEARCHER
• Recent papers with citation counts and one-line summaries
• Citation spikes on older work
• Grants and funding (NSF, NIH, DARPA, and more)
• Patents
• Industry and academic collaborations
BRING YOUR OWN KEY
Signal runs on the TinyFish Web Agent API using your own API key, entered once in Settings. You pay TinyFish directly for what you use; Signal has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics.
PRIVACY BY DESIGN
• Auto-detection only runs on academic sites (Google Scholar, ORCID, ResearchGate, and many more). Everywhere else, nothing is sent unless you click "Scan this page".
• A free local check runs before any paid lookup, so you are not billed for pages that aren't researcher profiles.
• Your API key never leaves your device except to reach TinyFish.
• Tracked researchers sync across your devices through your Chrome profile.
