The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About ShopInspect by Elevven11
ShopInspect gives you a second opinion on a product listing before you buy.
Open a product page, click ShopInspect, and get a plain report on the price,
the reviews, the seller, the product details and the delivery terms, weighed
into one verdict. Every check runs inside your browser. There is no account,
no server and nothing uploaded.
WHAT IT REPORTS
Price: the amount, the currency, the was-price, and whether an advertised
discount matches the two prices shown. Every other amount on the page is
listed too, so you can see it read the right one.
Reviews: the rating and how many buyers it rests on, the star breakdown, and,
from the reviews visible on the page, what buyers liked and complained about.
Seller: who is selling it, their rating and location where the page shows
them, and whether this is a marketplace or the brand's own store.
Product details: name, brand, model, specifications, images and description,
with what a listing of this kind usually states and this one leaves out.
Delivery and returns: the delivery charge, an estimated total when both
figures were read, the delivery estimate, the return window and the warranty.
Value: what the listing offers in support of its price, and what it leaves
unclear.
THE VERDICT, AND WHEN THERE ISN'T ONE
Excellent Buy, Good Buy, Fair Deal, Think Twice or Poor Value, with the score
as its evidence. When a listing states too little, ShopInspect says "Not
Enough Information" rather than guess. The full arithmetic is one tap away.
WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH IT
Show any finding on the page, step through the evidence one finding at a time,
save products and compare them side by side, and copy a summary or export the
report as JSON or CSV.
On a search or category page, ShopInspect names the products in the grid, and
any one of them can be read without leaving the page.
HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT CANNOT KNOW
ShopInspect reads the listing, not the internet. It does not compare prices
across stores yet, so it never says a price is the best one. A discount that
does not add up is reported as inconsistent arithmetic, not as a fake
discount. Review patterns are signals worth a closer look, never proof. "Not
stated" is never treated as "absent". Every finding shows where on the page it
came from, so you can disagree when ShopInspect is wrong.
It works on the major marketplaces and on most independent online shops.
PRIVACY
Nothing is uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload it to. No account, no
analytics, no telemetry, and no network requests at all.
There is no content script in the manifest, so nothing of ShopInspect exists
on a page until you ask for a report on that page. It keeps no history of the
products you look at. Form fields, checkout pages and reviewer identities are
never read. No site can tell that ShopInspect is installed.
Access to the pages you visit is not requested at install. It is asked for
only if you turn on automatic inspection or read a product from a listing
page, and can be withdrawn from the settings page at any time.
KEYBOARD
Ctrl+Shift+Y opens ShopInspect on the current page. Change it at
chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
FREE, WITH ONE ADVERT, AND AFFILIATE LINKS DISCLOSED
ShopInspect carries one advertisement, at the foot of the popup, labelled
"Ad", from a list that ships inside the extension. Opening the popup makes no
request and tells nobody it was opened. One click turns it off permanently.
Some of those adverts, and two store links on the screen shown when there is
no product to inspect, are the developer's affiliate links to Superhive and
The Anvil Store. Each is marked "Ad", and a report on a paid listing at either
shop says so beside the verdict. Both shops are read and scored by the same
code as every other store. ShopInspect never changes the links on a page you
visit.
