About Shodan Lookup
Easily search IP addresses, domain names, CVE identifiers, Shodan search filters, and
general keywords on Shodan directly from your browser. Shodan Lookup simplifies
cybersecurity research by enabling quick lookups from any webpage. Right-click on
selected text, links, or specific patterns like CVE codes to open a Shodan search in a
new tab, giving fast access to valuable network and vulnerability information.
Features:
- IP Lookup - Quickly search for IP addresses to view open ports, services, and
vulnerabilities.
- Domain Lookup - Extracts the domain from URLs for precise Shodan searches.
- CVE Search - Automatically detects CVE identifiers (e.g., CVE-2024-6387) and searches
for known vulnerabilities.
- Search Filter Shorthand - Recognizes Shodan search filters like port:443, org:"Google",
or product:nginx and runs them directly as a Shodan search.
- Keyword Search - Supports general keyword searches, making it easy to look up phrases
or topics.
- Smart Recognition - Identifies the type of input (IP, domain, CVE, filter, or keyword)
and performs the appropriate Shodan search.
- Keyboard Shortcut - Press Alt+Shift+S to search the current tab's domain without
touching the mouse.
How to Use:
- Right-click on any selected text or link, then select "Search on Shodan" from the
context menu, or use the Alt+Shift+S shortcut for the current tab.
- A new tab opens with the Shodan results for the chosen IP, domain, CVE, filter, or
keyword.
- If your selection can't be turned into a valid search, a notification lets you know.
Permissions: This extension requires permissions to read selected text or links to
facilitate Shodan lookups from the browser context menu, to read the current tab's URL
for the keyboard shortcut, and to show a notification when a selection is invalid. No
browsing data is collected, stored, or transmitted anywhere by the extension itself.
Note: Shodan Lookup is intended for cybersecurity professionals, researchers, and
enthusiasts who need efficient access to Shodan's data. A Shodan account may be required
for certain features.
