Session View

Session View is a visual manager for your working sessions in Chrome. Every project gets its own session with tab previews. A session is not a dead snapshot you might come back to someday, but a live workspace: linked windows are saved automatically, an open session is one click away, and a session you put aside can be restored whenever you need it. Free up system resources Save a session and close windows you do not need right now. Chrome can then free memory and other resources used by those pages. How much memory is freed depends on the pages and on Chrome. SESSIONS • Save a window as a named session, with or without closing it. • Create empty sessions, rename, hide and reorder them with drag and drop. • Restore a session in a new window; if it is already open, the button switches to its window. • Choose a normal or incognito window for each session (incognito mode requires allowing the extension in Chrome settings). • Optional automatic sync for tab changes in linked windows, even after Chrome restarts. • Optionally create a session automatically for every new window. • Restore all matching sessions at once. TABS • Visual previews of saved tabs. • Move a tab to another session by dragging its preview, including a session open in a window, where the live tab is moved. When moving into a closed session, the tab closes in the original window only after it has been saved to the destination. The tab's custom name is kept. • Custom tab names that are kept when the session syncs. • Close a single tab or a whole session window, with confirmation. • Open a saved tab your way: switch to it if it is already open, open it in the session's window or your last used window, or in a new window. TAB MANAGER • A separate window with a live overview of all open windows side by side, free for everyone. • Drag tabs between windows and into sessions; click a tab to switch to it. • Bulk actions on selected tabs: close, put to sleep, move or save as a new session. • Find duplicate pages and see your tabs grouped by website. • Put inactive tabs to sleep to free up memory. SOUND • Mute a single tab or a whole window. • Permanently muted sessions: new tabs are muted too, and the session stays muted after restoring it or restarting Chrome. • See what is playing and what is muted, grouped by window and session. • Mute everything with one click from the popup header. USAGE STATISTICS • How much time you spend in each window, session, website and page. • Active time, daily average, most active hour, tab switches and charts by day and hour for today, 7, 30 or 90 days. • Only the active tab in the focused window is counted; Incognito windows are never tracked. Statistics can be turned off in settings and cleared at any time. SEARCH, LOOK AND BACKUPS • Search by session name, tab title or URL. • Split and compact layouts, light and dark themes. • Keyboard navigation and an interface in 10 languages: English, Czech, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Polish, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. • Export encrypted backups protected by a passphrase; import older unencrypted backups with a warning. PRIVACY AND PERMISSIONS Sessions, previews, statistics and settings are stored only in the extension's local storage in your Chrome. The extension has no account, no cloud, no ads and no analytics, and sends nothing to the developer or any third party. • Tabs: saving, restoring and syncing sessions, switching between tabs and windows, muting sound. • Site access: capturing a preview of the visible part of a page. The extension does not inject scripts into pages. • Storage: sessions, previews, statistics and settings in local storage; unlimited storage is needed for previews. • Idle and alarms: used only for statistics, so time when you are away is not counted and measured time is saved periodically. Statistics are kept for at most 90 days. • If you allow the extension in Incognito mode, it can also save and sync tabs from Incognito windows. • The passphrase for an encrypted backup is never stored.
