Selio — AI Reading Companion

Selio helps you understand what you are reading, right inside Chrome. Ask questions about the current page, or select text to translate, summarize, explain and explore it with your preferred AI model. READ WITHOUT LOSING YOUR PLACE • Select text to open a compact reading assistant beside the selection. • Translate, summarize, explain or ask your own questions, then continue with follow-up messages. • Open the Chrome side panel to ask questions about the current page or continue an existing conversation. • Preview the source text and choose whether to send only your selection or include the surrounding paragraph. MAKE IT YOUR OWN • Configure multiple models and switch between them. • Use OpenAI-compatible APIs, Anthropic's Messages API or a compatible custom endpoint. • Create and edit prompt actions for your own reading workflow. • Choose your target language, light or dark appearance, and an English or Simplified Chinese interface. • Enable or disable automatic text selection assistance globally or for specific websites. KEEP USEFUL ANSWERS Save selected text and AI answers as local notes, add remarks and tags, search your notes, revisit the original page and export notes as Markdown. View token usage reported by your model provider in settings. SETUP AND COSTS Selio requires your own API key and access to a supported model provider. No Selio account is required. AI requests may incur charges from your provider; installing the extension does not include free model credits. DATA AND PRIVACY Selio sends the text needed for an AI request, your prompt and relevant conversation history directly to the model endpoint you configure. Page questions may include the page title and selected body excerpts. Selecting text alone does not make an AI request; clicking or hovering over the Selio selection icon can run the default action. Settings, saved notes and usage records are stored on your device. API keys can be saved on the device or kept for the current browser session. Selio does not include analytics or tracking SDKs. AVAILABILITY Requires Chrome 116 or later. Reading assistance works on supported HTTP/HTTPS web pages. Chrome internal pages, the Chrome Web Store, embedded frames, images and PDF content are not supported. Long-page overviews may use sampled excerpts rather than the entire page.
