The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Search Text in Images – OCR Find & Copy | ImageTextFinder
ImageTextFinder turns text inside webpage images into searchable, selectable text. After you enable site access, press Ctrl+F on Windows or Linux, or Command+F on macOS, to find normal page text and recognized image text in one sidebar. Jump to each match, highlight its location, and copy text without downloading or uploading the image.
SEARCH TEXT IN WEBPAGE IMAGES
• Search visible HTML text and completed OCR results with one query
• See the combined result count and move with previous and next controls
• Scroll directly to a result and highlight the matching area inside the image
• Start searching immediately while later image results are added progressively
SELECT, COPY, AND EXTRACT IMAGE TEXT
• Drag across high-confidence recognized words to select them
• Copy selected words or the full recognized text from an image
• Reuse text from supported webpage images without saving or uploading them
MULTILINGUAL RECOGNITION, LOCAL BY DESIGN
• Choose from 11 packaged model groups covering 106 printed languages; English and Korean are enabled by default
• Process visible images first, then continue from the top of the page
• Handle supported lazy-loaded and dynamically added images
• Stop pending work, retry failed images, use a bounded local cache, and avoid duplicate processing
• Use keyboard navigation, light or dark mode, and accessible progress updates
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
OCR runs locally in your browser. Image content, search queries, recognized results, and copied text are not sent to an external recognition, AI, analytics, advertising, or developer service. You can clear the local cache and all extension-owned data in Settings.
SITE ACCESS AND CHROME FIND
Website access is optional and requested only after you choose to enable the extension. It is needed to read visible page text and supported images, run local recognition, render highlights, and open the combined finder with Ctrl+F. Without permission, or on restricted browser pages, Chrome's normal Find remains available.
LIMITATIONS
Chrome internal pages, Chrome Web Store pages, protected or DRM content, inaccessible cross-origin frames, PDF viewers, video frames, WebGL content, and images whose pixels cannot be read may not work. OCR accuracy varies with resolution, contrast, font, rotation, layout, and language. Handwriting, equations, complex tables, vertical text, and heavily distorted text are not guaranteed.
NO ADS IN VERSION 1
Version 1 includes no ad SDK, ad UI, sponsor placement, analytics, or ad-network requests.
See the Support and Privacy Policy links for permissions, data deletion, known limitations, and troubleshooting.
