The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Search Hub
Search Hub puts your favorite websites and AI assistants in your right-click menu. Select a word, a phrase or a short paragraph on a regular web page, right-click, and choose where to look it up. Results open in a new tab right next to the one you are reading, so you never lose your place.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Select a word, a phrase, or a short paragraph (up to 500 characters).
2. Right-click and open Search Hub.
3. Pick a site.
If you select more than 500 characters, nothing is copied and no tab is opened. A short message appears on the page instead; on browser pages that extensions cannot access, a system notification is used. Your text is never cut.
WHAT YOU GET
• 15 built-in sites across web search, images, maps, video, social media, shopping, reference, translation, and AI chat. The full list is shown in the screenshots.
• Your own sites: add up to 10 sites to the menu. Type a site's address, and the extension copies your text and opens the site so you can paste it there. For direct search, search that site for the word searchhub, then paste the link of the results page into the settings. Then press Save.
• AI assistants: with three of the five assistants (named in the screenshots) and their default links, the assistant opens with your text in its link and fills it in for you. The extension never presses Send: review the text, and any notice the assistant shows, before you send it. With the other two, the text is copied as the assistant opens, ready to paste.
• Your menu, your way: move any site up or down, rename it, or hide the ones you never use.
• Your own links: change any link from the settings page, for example to use your local Amazon store instead of the default. A "Test" button next to every link lets you check it before saving.
• Background tabs: optionally open search results without leaving the page you are on. AI assistants and copy-and-paste sites always open in front, so you can paste right away.
• 20 interface languages, including Arabic, Persian, and Urdu with right-to-left layout. It follows your browser language automatically, or you can pick one yourself.
• Light and dark themes that follow your system.
PRIVACY
• No ads and no analytics in the extension.
• No Search Hub account.
• The extension does not send your text or settings to the developer.
• Your text is placed only in links that start with https://.
• The text you select goes to the site you choose, inside its link, or is copied so that you paste it there yourself. That site then handles it under its own privacy policy.
• Your settings are saved by Chrome. If Chrome Sync is on, Google syncs them across your signed-in devices.
• The extension uses the text you selected only when you pick a destination from its menu. It asks for no access to your browsing history and no permanent access to any website.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.8.0
• Add your own sites to the menu (up to 10).
• Reorder and rename any site.
• Safer saving when the settings page is open in two windows.
• Your text is now placed only in https links.
• One limit for every site and assistant: 500 characters. A longer selection is no longer cut; you get a short message instead.
Version 1.7.0
• Added image search and map search.
• Your text is filled in for you in three AI assistants.
• A Settings item at the bottom of the menu.
Search Hub is an independent extension. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of the sites it opens.
