About Screenshot This
Screenshot This captures any web page, lets you mark it up, and turns what you click into a step-by-step guide you can paste anywhere.
CAPTURE
• The visible area, an area you select, or the full page, including apps that scroll inside a panel.
• The screen freezes while you select an area, so open menus and tooltips stay in the shot.
• Keyboard shortcuts: Alt+Shift+1 (visible), Alt+Shift+2 (select area), Alt+Shift+3 (full page).
ANNOTATE
• Arrows (straight, bold or curved), rectangles, ellipses, text, highlighter, pen and numbered badges.
• Blur or pixelate details, or cover them with a solid box for real redaction.
• Crop without losing the original. Undo and redo everything.
• Every change is saved as you make it. Copy to the clipboard or download PNG or JPG.
RECORD A GUIDE
• Start recording and use the site as usual. Every click becomes a step with a screenshot and a numbered marker. Typing, dropdown choices and Enter become steps too.
• Step descriptions are written for you from the page's labels, like: Click the "Save" button.
• Select an area while recording to add a step with that area outlined.
• Typed text in password and payment fields is left out. You can also turn off typed text entirely.
EDIT AND SHARE
• Rename, reorder and delete steps, and add notes between them.
• Open any step's screenshot in the editor to add arrows or blur.
• Export as rich text to paste into document and wiki editors, a single HTML file, PDF, Markdown with images, or a zip of numbered screenshots.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Everything stays on your computer. No account, no servers, no tracking, no analytics.
• Screenshots are deleted after the number of days you choose. Guides are kept until you delete them.
• Access to all sites is optional. It is requested only when you start a recording, so the recording can follow you to other sites and tabs. You can revoke it in Settings.
