About ScreenShare Shield
Never leak a private tab during a screen share again.
ScreenShare Shield protects your privacy when you share your screen on Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or any other video call tool. Turn on Share Mode before you present, and the sites you chose stay hidden.
WHAT IT DOES
- One-click Share Mode: Turn protection on or off from the toolbar. A red "ON" badge on the icon shows when it's active, so you always know.
- Blur the sites you choose: Add the sites you want protected, like Gmail, Slack, WhatsApp Web, or your bank. While Share Mode is on, those pages are blurred. Click "Click to reveal" only when you decide to.
- Panic hotkey: Something unexpected on screen? Press Ctrl+Shift+X (Command+Shift+X on Mac) to instantly cover the page with a neutral gray screen. Press it again to bring the page back. It works on any website. You can change the shortcut in Chrome's extension shortcut settings.
- You stay in control: Chrome asks for your permission for each site you add, and only for that site. Remove a site and the permission is removed too.
- Remembers your setup: Your blur list and settings are saved, so you set it up once.
BUILT FOR
Remote workers, freelancers, consultants, teachers, and anyone who presents on video calls and doesn't want an awkward moment.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
- No accounts, no tracking, no analytics
- Your blur list never leaves your device
- The extension never reads or records what's on your pages
- Works fully offline
GOOD TO KNOW
ScreenShare Shield protects what appears inside your Chrome browser. It does not hide desktop notifications or other apps outside Chrome, so also switch on "Do Not Disturb" in your operating system before you present.
Chrome's own pages (such as chrome:// pages and the Chrome Web Store) can't be covered by any extension.
HOW TO USE
1. Click the ScreenShare Shield icon.
2. Add a site, such as mail.google.com, and click Allow when Chrome asks.
3. Turn on Share Mode before you start sharing.
