About ScreenLens
ScreenLens is a local-first browser-tab recorder and editor. Capture a tab you explicitly select, turn clicks into smooth automatic zooms, refine the recording in a built-in editor, and export a polished video without leaving Chrome.
Free, local features:
• Record a selected tab with optional tab audio and microphone
• Capture an optional camera track that remains aligned while editing
• Generate and fine-tune automatic zoom from recorded clicks
• Trim, cut, change speed, and style cursor movement and clicks
• Add backgrounds, annotations, keyboard overlays, images, and watermarks
• Adjust audio volume and noise-reduction settings
• Export locally to MP4, WebM, or GIF with no watermark
• Recover interrupted recordings and recent healthy project revisions when possible
Optional ScreenLens Pro adds background cloud rendering for MP4 and WebM. An upload starts only after you choose Cloud and confirm the transfer. Pro uses a revocable connected-device token; local recording and editing never require an account.
Privacy: local projects and recordings remain in your Chrome profile unless you deliberately start a Pro render. Product analytics is off by default and, if enabled, sends only allowlisted product events. ScreenLens does not use session replay, autocapture, advertising, or cross-site tracking. The popup displays the active tab title and address locally so you can identify the recording target; ScreenLens does not retain browsing history or send page URLs/titles as metadata. Interaction tracking excludes editable fields, standalone printable keystrokes, and DOM selectors. Anything visible or audible in the tab you choose can appear in the recording, so check the tab before recording or uploading it.
