The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About ScreenCode
Read a QR code already visible in Chrome without taking a screenshot, switching devices, or uploading the image.
ScreenCode gives you a simple, deliberate workflow:
Click the extension and choose “Select a QR code.”
Drag a rectangle around the complete visible code.
Review what ScreenCode found.
Approve or cancel the suggested action.
ScreenCode recognizes websites, contact cards, authenticator setup codes, passkey requests, calendar events, Wi-Fi details, email and phone actions, location links, payment details, product barcodes, and plain text.
Privacy is built in. Screenshots, selected pixels, decoded values, and classifications are processed locally on your device. They are never uploaded to ScreenCode or a third party, logged, or saved. Temporary image data is automatically discarded after use.
The extension contains no analytics, remote decoder, remote code, or scan history. Sensitive values remain concealed when appropriate, and ScreenCode never opens a destination or performs a decoded action without your approval.
