The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Screen Recorder
Screen Recorder is a fast, private way to capture anything happening in a Chrome tab. Click the toolbar icon, pick your options, and you're recording in seconds — no account, no watermark, no uploads.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Record any browser tab in crisp 1080p, or up to 4K with the High quality setting.
• Capture the tab's audio — and keep hearing it yourself while you record. Most recorders mute the tab when they capture its sound; this one routes the audio back to your speakers so nothing goes silent.
• Add your microphone to narrate, explain, or present. Mic and tab audio are mixed together cleanly.
• Pause and resume mid-recording, with a live timer so you always know where you are.
• Preview your recording the moment you stop, then download it or share it.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Everything happens locally in your browser. Your recordings are never sent to a server, and the extension asks for only two permissions: tab capture and downloads. Your microphone is only requested if you turn the microphone option on.
LIGHTWEIGHT AND FREE
A clean, distraction-free interface that does one job well. No sign-up, no subscription, no watermark.
GREAT FOR
Quick tutorials and how-tos, bug reports, demoing a web app, capturing a meeting or webinar tab, saving a presentation, or recording anything you want to revisit later.
Recordings are saved as .webm (VP9/Opus when supported). The Share option appears where your operating system supports sharing files; everywhere else, use Download.
