About Schoolar+ - Google Scholar Insights
Schoolar+ adds deeper citation and publication insights directly to Google Scholar profiles.
Google Scholar provides citation counts, h-index, and i10-index. Schoolar+ builds on these metrics by helping researchers understand their h-index frontier, explore their publications, and observe how their citation profile changes over time.
Citation Pulse
✔️ Observe changes in citations, h-index, and i10-index between locally stored observations.
✔️ See which matched publications gained or decreased in citations.
✔️ Identify newly observed publications and publications no longer present in the latest observation when the comparison is sufficiently complete.
✔️ Distinguish citation-count changes from changes in the composition of a Scholar profile.
✔️ Filter publications according to their observed citation activity.
✔️ Preview Citation Pulse using simulated changes without modifying your real citation history.
H-index analysis
✔️ See which citation-ranked publications currently define your h-index boundary.
✔️ Explore targets beyond your current h-index.
✔️ Calculate the minimum citation gains required to reach a selected h-index target.
✔️ Identify the frontier publications that would need additional citations for that target.
✔️ Visualize the citation distribution around your current h-index and selected target.
Publication exploration
✔️ Number publications by citation rank.
✔️ Search loaded publications by title or metadata.
✔️ Filter publications by year, citation count, and observed citation change.
✔️ Explore citation milestones and the publications approaching them.
✔️ Jump directly from Schoolar+ analysis to relevant publications on the Scholar profile.
Local history and snapshots
✔️ Maintain historical observations for your own profile and profiles you explicitly choose to track.
✔️ Compare observations to examine changes over time.
✔️ Retain up to 60 recent detailed observations per profile using rolling local history.
✔️ Manage stored observations from the Schoolar+ Dashboard.
✔️ Export a Schoolar+ backup and import it into another supported installation.
Export & Reports
✔️ Export a restorable Schoolar+ backup in JSON format.
✔️ Download publication data from the latest My Profile observation as CSV.
✔️ Create a print-ready Research Impact Snapshot combining current metrics, Citation Pulse, H-index Frontier, and local history.
✔️ Create a dated Research Metrics Record of the Google Scholar metrics observed by Schoolar+.
Three ways to explore profiles
Schoolar+ distinguishes between your own profile, profiles you explicitly track, and ordinary public profiles.
✔️ My Profile provides the complete personal analysis experience, including Citation Pulse and automatic publication loading.
✔️ Tracked profiles receive longitudinal observation and Citation Pulse without being designated as your own profile.
✔️ Other public profiles can be explored using current-state analysis without automatically creating citation history.
Schoolar+ Dashboard
Open the Dashboard to explore citation history, snapshots, H-index analysis, tracked profiles, Export & Reports, settings, backups, privacy information, and locally stored Schoolar+ data.
Privacy-conscious by design
Citation analysis and historical comparisons are performed locally in your browser. Schoolar+ does not require a Schoolar+ account and does not upload your locally stored citation history or private tracked-profile notes to a Schoolar+ server.
Schoolar+ enhances Google Scholar rather than replacing it. Its interface is designed to work alongside the familiar Google Scholar profile experience.
Independent software
Schoolar+ is independently developed and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google or Google Scholar.
