Save Image as JPG, PNG, WebP – WebP to JPG

Save any image on a web page as JPG, PNG or WebP with one right-click. The free extension converts the picture right on your computer and saves it with its original file name. Built and maintained by Phạm Xuân Hiếu at xuanhieu.org. Why people install it • Downloaded a .webp you can't open, or need a PNG for a slide? Right-click the image, choose "Save image as JPG, PNG, WebP", pick a format. Done. • Keeps the original name: photo.webp becomes photo.jpg, in your usual Downloads folder. • Private by design: the image is converted inside your browser and is never uploaded. No account, no ads, no tracking. ━━━━━━━━━━ 🖼️ How it works • Choose JPG (quality 92), PNG (lossless, keeps transparency) or WebP. • Works with the images Chrome itself can show, including newer formats such as AVIF and vector SVG graphics. • Transparent areas get a clean white background in a JPG instead of turning black. • SVG logos and icons are rendered sharp, at least 1,024 px on the long side. • Animated images are saved as a still picture of their first frame. • Already in the format you picked? The original file is saved untouched, without compressing it again. • File names stay readable, even for images served through a CDN or resized by the website. • Works in Chrome on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS. 🔐 Privacy and permissions • Conversion happens in your browser with the browser's own image engine. Nothing is sent to the author or any other server; the only request is the download of the image you chose, from the site that hosts it. • Right-click menu: adds "Save image as JPG, PNG, WebP" to images. • Downloads: saves the converted file to your Downloads folder. • Offscreen document: a hidden page where the image is converted. • Active tab: reads the image you right-clicked, on that page and only at that moment. • Optional site access: a few image servers block extensions. Only then does the extension ask, in Chrome's own dialog, for access to that one image host.
