The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About RetroTrace by CRTGang
RetroTrace adds a retro-styled game identification and reference panel to YouTube.
Identify the game in a video from its title, from a clue you type, or by analyzing the current video frame. When supported, Chrome's built-in on-device Local AI can turn messy video text or visual clues from the current frame into a likely game title. AI results may not always be accurate.
RetroTrace then searches Wikidata for game information and Wikimedia Commons for available media.
Features:
• Identify games from the current YouTube video title
• Identify games by analyzing the current YouTube video frame
• Optional Chrome on-device Local AI identification
• Describe what you see and let Local AI suggest the game title
• Search and select matching games manually
• View game details sourced from Wikidata
• Browse available Wikimedia Commons images with attribution
• Optional in-player RetroTrace interface on YouTube
• Draggable and resizable retro-styled overlay
Privacy:
RetroTrace does not read YouTube transcripts, comments, or account data. Video-frame analysis only occurs when you explicitly choose to identify the current frame. Local AI identification uses Chrome's built-in on-device AI when available, and the selected frame or game clue is not sent to a cloud AI service. Online game lookups are sent only to Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons.
