The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.

About Reintroduce Google Maps links in Search

This simple extension brings back all clickable links from Google Search to Google Maps (map thumbnail). They have been removed following an European Union decision. This extension has been thoroughly tested in France (domain google.com). The difference with the other "re-introduce" extension on the Chrome Web Store is that my extension enable the thumbnail link even when you search GPS coordinates. The other one only works for places/cities.
