About ref extension
Save anything you find online to your ref archive in one click.
ref is a shared visual reference system for you and the agents you work with. Collect images, videos, websites, and other references, and ref analyzes what’s there so the visual patterns, details, and ideas behind them can become useful context for your work and your tools.
This extension is the fastest way to add to ref while you browse.
ONE-CLICK SAVE
Click the ref icon to save the best image or video on the page to your most recent collection.
Once ref analyzes it, you’ll see the collections it most closely matches and why. Move it with one click if you want. Nothing moves on its own.
CHOOSE EXACTLY WHAT TO SAVE
Open the full capture card to see everything ref finds on the page, edit the title, and choose one or multiple collections.
You can also create a new collection without leaving the page.
RIGHT-CLICK SAVES
Right-click an image, video, link, or page to save it directly to ref.
No extra UI—just a small confirmation showing where it went.
PINTEREST BOARDS
Capture an entire Pinterest board—up to 100 pins—directly from the tab you already have open.
Secret boards work too, because capture happens in your browser.
PRIVACY
Ref captures the page or media you choose to save and sends its URL, title, content and metadata to your configured Ref server. Ref uses your account information and saved content to store, organize, search and analyze your archive. It does not continuously record your browsing history.
Configured service providers, including Anthropic and OpenAI, may process saved content for analysis. Ref does not sell your data or use it for advertising, credit/lending decisions or unrelated sharing.
The optional Connect Pinterest feature requires an owner-authorized account. When you choose to connect, the extension reads your Pinterest session cookie and sends it to the displayed Ref server for authenticated imports. Later Pinterest saves may refresh that session with your consent. Disconnect stops refresh in this browser, removes cookie permissions and requests deletion of the server-held session. Ordinary clipping does not require this connection.
