ReelCounter

ReelCounter - Digital Wellbeing for Shorts & Reels Track, limit, and regain control over your time spent watching YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels. Find yourself mindlessly scrolling for hours? ReelCounter is a lightweight, privacy-focused digital wellbeing extension designed to help you build healthier habits around short-form video content. ✨ Key Features: 📊 Real-Time Floating Tracker A sleek, unobtrusive widget hovers on your screen while watching YouTube Shorts or Instagram Reels, showing you exactly how many videos you've watched and the time you've spent in your current session. The widget dynamically changes color (Blue → Yellow → Red) as you approach your daily limit! 🎯 Focus Mode Need to get work done? Toggle "Focus Mode" from the dashboard. If you try to open a Short or Reel, ReelCounter will instantly block the video with a full-screen warning and redirect you safely back to the homepage. 🛑 Custom Daily Limits (Hard Block) Set a maximum number of videos you are allowed to watch per day. Once you hit your limit, a full-screen, un-dismissible overlay takes over the video player, effectively cutting off the infinite scroll so you can get back to your day. 🧘 "Take a Break" Reminders Customize a streak interval (e.g., every 20 videos). ReelCounter will display a gentle, dismissible reminder to look away, stand up, or stretch before you continue scrolling. 📈 Beautiful Analytics Dashboard Click the extension icon to view your rich historical data, featuring: * Your daily, weekly, and monthly watch counts. * A 7-day animated bar chart visualizing your scrolling trends. * Combined time-spent tracking across both YouTube and Instagram. 🔒 100% Private & Local Your data belongs to you. ReelCounter operates entirely locally on your own machine. It simply counts URLs and tracks active time without ever sending your browsing history or personal data to external servers.
