The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Real PDF — Web to PDF
Turn any web page into a real, high-quality PDF — with the text still selectable, links still clickable, and images and layout looking exactly like the page you saw in Chrome.
Most "print to PDF" tools give you a flat screenshot glued into a PDF wrapper. Real PDF is different: it rebuilds the page as an actual document, so you can still select and copy text, click through links, and search the file — while your images, fonts, and layout stay intact.
WHY REAL PDF
✓ True PDFs, not screenshots — text stays text, links stay live
✓ Multiple export modes so you can pick fidelity vs. speed
✓ One-click export from the toolbar, right-click menu, or a keyboard shortcut
✓ Export the whole page or just a selection
✓ Optional local translation before export — no page ever leaves your device
✓ 100% local processing — see our Privacy Policy for details
EXPORT MODES
• Hybrid (default) — keeps text selectable and links clickable, and only "freezes" the parts of the page that can't survive as text (video players, canvases, animations). Best all-round choice for articles, docs, and most websites.
• Pixel-perfect — a byte-for-byte visual capture of the page, ideal for pages where exact visual fidelity matters more than editable text.
• Chrome native — uses Chromium's own built-in print engine, the same one behind Ctrl+P, packaged into a one-click export.
• Portable (WASM) — a lightweight built-in renderer for a fast, dependency-free export.
HOW TO USE IT
1. Click the Real PDF icon in your toolbar, or right-click the page and choose "Save this page as a real PDF."
2. Pick a mode, page size, and margins (or just use your saved defaults).
3. Hit export — your PDF downloads straight to your computer.
You can also select any portion of a page and export just that selection, or use the Alt+Shift+P shortcut to export the current page instantly.
LOCAL, ON-DEVICE TRANSLATION
Need the page in another language before exporting? Real PDF can translate the page text locally using an on-device translation model — your content is never uploaded to a remote server to be translated.
PRIVACY FIRST
Real PDF does not have a backend server. Page content, generated PDFs, and your browsing activity are never collected, stored, or transmitted anywhere. Everything happens locally in your browser. Full details in our Privacy Policy: https://hilarious-tartufo-38dc28.netlify.app/
OPTIONAL DESKTOP COMPANION APP
A few advanced features — like automatically removing blank pages from long exports — are powered by an optional, separate desktop app that talks to the extension only over your own computer (never over the internet). The core PDF export works fully without it.
NOTE ON VIDEO & SOCIAL SITES
Sites built around video feeds or infinite-scroll content (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X/Twitter, Netflix, etc.) aren't good candidates for document-style PDF export, since only a tiny slice of the content ever exists in the page at once — Real PDF will let you know when a site isn't supported rather than producing a broken file.
Have feedback or found a site that doesn't export well? We'd love to hear from you.
