About Read Aloud Saver
Read Aloud Saver keeps a copy of the audio when you use Read Aloud on chatgpt.com, so you can download it or play it back later.
How it works
- Switch capture on from the toolbar button (or Alt+Shift+A). While it is off, Read Aloud works exactly as normal and the extension does nothing.
- Click Read Aloud on any response. A small panel on the page shows a live progress bar while the audio arrives, so long answers never leave you guessing. It tells you clearly if a download stalls or fails, and lets you keep the part that arrived.
- When the bar turns green, press Download to save the clip (.aac). Each clip is named after the first words of the response.
Built-in player
Play any captured clip on the page with play/pause, stop, a seek bar, 15-second skips, speed (1x to 2x), repeat, and "Show in chat" to jump to the response.
Also
- Auto-save option, off by default.
- Responses you played before switching capture on can be captured with one click.
- Clear all, a movable panel, and a badge on the toolbar icon showing progress.
Privacy
Everything stays in your browser. The extension sends nothing to the developer or anyone else, uses no analytics, and only runs on chatgpt.com.
