About qz

qz brings AI-assisted web research, browser automation and data collection into Chrome’s side panel. Describe a task in plain language, follow its progress and organize the results as you browse. Connect your own model service to get started. qz supports providers with a compatible API and tool calling, including local model servers. Your provider may charge for model usage. What you can do • Research across tabs: read articles, compare sources and gather information from multiple pages. • Operate web pages: follow links, fill forms and interact with page elements. With a vision-capable model, use screenshots to guide actions. • Collect structured data: save text, tables and images to local collections. Preview, edit and export them from the side panel. • Run tasks in parallel: delegate subtasks and follow their progress. Stop a run, change direction or add instructions while it is running. • Reuse workflows with Skills: combine instructions, page scripts, tools and interactive UI. Skills can activate on matching websites. • Connect external agents: use the optional local MCP bridge to access browser tools and task controls from other agent applications. This requires separate setup. Try a task “Compare these product pages and put the differences in a table.” “Read these articles in parallel and summarize each source.” “Collect Hangzhou landmark photos from this page and organize them into a gallery with captions.” Getting started Open the qz side panel, go to Settings and configure your model service and credentials. Select a model, save your settings and enter a task. Data and permissions Conversations, Skills and collected data are stored in your browser. Your input and task context, including page or file content and screenshots, are sent to your configured model service. Skills and MCP connections may also exchange task data with services you configure. Location requests require consent on first use. Bookmark and browsing-history tools require permission. When used in a task, these results can also be sent to your model service. You can stop a task at any time.
