The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About QR Send - Open phone URLs in Chrome on your PC
[Update in v1.3.3]
Fixed a bug where the QR code shown in the popup could not be scanned by QR reader apps. The QR code now has the proper blank margin around it and scans reliably. Thank you for the report.
QR Send is a free tool that lets you send URLs and text between your phone and PC, or between multiple PCs.
Pair once with a QR code, and from then on you can send in any direction — phone to PC, PC to phone, or PC to another PC.
No Google account, email, or sign-up required — install the extension and start using it right away, even on a work PC where you can't log in with a personal account.
■ Great for
- Reading an article you found on your phone, continued on your PC later
- Comparing a product you saw on your phone on a bigger PC screen
- Looking something up on your PC and wanting it on your phone before you leave, or sharing it to another PC (home/work)
- Work PCs where signing in with a personal Google account isn't allowed
- Anyone who can't use Chrome's "Send to your devices" or Phone Link because of account restrictions
- Saving things you find on your phone straight into Notion to organize later
■ Features
- Bidirectional sending - send not just phone-to-PC, but also from the PC extension's popup to your phone or other PCs
- Notion integration (new) - choose your destination with a "PC" / "Notion" toggle. Turn Notion on once to connect your account and pick a destination page — after that, everything you send is saved to that page automatically
- Image sending - send photos or screenshots straight from your phone; they open automatically in a new Chrome tab on your PC
- Shared timeline - everything you send and receive (URLs, text, images) shows up as a single history (timeline) in both the popup and the send page
- Multiple devices - paste an invite link or space ID to bring your home PC, work PC, or phone into the same shared space, without rescanning a QR code (PCs via the extension's options page, phones via the send page)
- Send to a specific device - target "all devices" or narrow it down to one device
- Chrome sync option (off by default) - automatically share your pairing setup across Chrome browsers signed into the same Google account (QR Send never reads your account info itself)
- No account needed - no Google login, no email, no phone number (Notion sign-in is only required if you choose to use the Notion integration)
- Completely free - no subscription, no send limits, no forced ad clicks
- Works on any OS - Windows, Mac, Linux, ChromeOS, anywhere Chrome runs
■ How it works
1. Install the Chrome extension on your PC, show the QR code, and scan it with your phone to pair
2. From either your phone or PC, type a URL or text, or pick an image, and tap send
3. It reaches your paired devices usually within seconds (at most about 30 seconds) (or just the one you targeted) — URLs and images open automatically in a new tab, text appears in the timeline. If Notion is turned on, it's saved to your chosen page at the same time
4. You can review the full send/receive history any time, as a timeline in both the extension popup and the phone's send page
■ History and privacy
- Timeline history is stored only in each device's own browser (PC or phone), up to 500 entries. Once a 501st item arrives, the oldest entry is automatically deleted
- Messages are relayed through ntfy.sh (an open-source notification delivery service). Relayed messages, including image attachments, are cached there for a few hours only, then automatically deleted. QR Send's developer does not permanently store or collect your history
- If you enable Notion integration, only your authentication token and chosen destination page are stored server-side. What you actually send is saved directly to your own Notion workspace and never kept by QR Send
■ About the permissions
- alarms - used for a timer that checks for new messages roughly every 30 seconds
- storage / unlimitedStorage - used to store your pairing setup (space ID, device name, etc.) and timeline history (up to 500 entries, including images) on this device. unlimitedStorage is needed because saved images can exceed the default storage quota
- tabs - used to open received URLs and images in a new tab, and to read the current tab's URL for the "send this tab's URL" feature
- scripting - runs on supported SNS post pages (X/Threads/Instagram/Bluesky) to show the start of the post's text in the timeline when you send that page's URL
