About Private Screenshot Redactor
Share the context. Keep private details out.
Private Screenshot Redactor helps you prepare screenshots for support requests, tutorials and everyday sharing. Capture the visible tab, choose an area, cover sensitive details with solid black boxes, and copy or save the finished PNG.
FREE FEATURES
• Capture the visible part of your current tab.
• Choose an area on a frozen screenshot.
• Open a PNG, JPEG or WebP image from your computer.
• Draw manual black boxes, undo changes and review the result.
• Copy the finished image or save a PNG.
PRO — ONE-TIME PURCHASE
• English text recognition runs locally on your device.
• Suggests black boxes for email addresses, common phone-number formats, payment card numbers, US Social Security numbers, IPv4 addresses and common access tokens.
• Review each suggestion, turn it off or add your own box.
• Save your detection-category preferences.
Pro is an optional one-time USD purchase $3.99. No subscription. Purchase and restoration use ExtensionPay and Stripe. Internet access is required to verify Pro; screenshot processing itself is local.
SCREENSHOTS STAY ON YOUR DEVICE
Images and recognized text are never uploaded to our servers, ExtensionPay, Stripe, or an OCR service. All recognition code and English language data are included. No screenshot history, advertising or analytics.
REVIEW BEFORE SHARING
Detection is assistance, not a guarantee. It can miss information. Names, addresses, faces, handwriting and unusual formats may require manual redaction. Review is required before export. Black boxes are painted into the exported PNG, rather than saved as editable layers.
Captures the visible viewport only; it does not stitch scrolling pages. Some protected browser pages cannot be captured. Imported images are limited to 25 megapixels. At least one enabled black box is required to export.
