The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About PlayBeam for Chrome
PlayBeam connects your browser to the PlayBeam app on your Mac, making it easy to move a supported web video from the current tab to PlayBeam and play it on your Mac, an AirPlay device, or a Chromecast.
The PlayBeam macOS app is required and is available separately.
How it works
Open a page with a supported video, then use the PlayBeam toolbar button or right-click the video. The extension detects the selected HTML5 media and sends the information needed for playback to the PlayBeam app running locally on the same Mac.
Features
- Send the largest visible video in the active tab
- Right-click a specific video to send it directly
- Works with compatible MP4, HLS, and DASH sources
- Supports public YouTube and Vimeo videos
- Optional local relay for improved playback and format compatibility
- Requests access to an embedded video player only when needed and after you approve it
