About PiP Mate Pro
# PiP Mate Pro
Keep watching while you get things done.
Bring web videos into a floating window while you research, take notes, or work. Use native Picture-in-Picture by default, or open caption mode separately when you want subtitles and extra playback controls.
## Key Features
- **One-click Picture-in-Picture:** Click the extension icon or press P to toggle native PiP.
- **Captions in your floating window:** Display captions from supported players, including YouTube and Bilibili. Adjust the font size or turn captions on and off.
- **Playback controls in the window:** Adjust progress, volume, and speed in enhanced PiP without repeatedly returning to the original page.
- **Quick speed settings:** Press O to open settings in the upper-left corner. Select a preset speed to apply it immediately and dismiss the panel.
- **Custom playback speed:** Watch lessons, interviews, and long videos at your own pace.
- **Video snapshots:** Save the current frame locally to capture useful moments.
- **Reverse stepping:** Review motion and visual details in videos that support seeking.
## Get Started
- Click the extension icon or press **P** to toggle native PiP.
- Press **O** to open playback settings.
- Right-click the extension icon and select **Caption Picture-in-Picture** to open a caption-enabled window.
Enable captions on the website first. Captions, snapshots, and some playback controls depend on the website’s player, video source, and browser restrictions. Captions embedded in the video image cannot be resized separately.
## What’s New in 1.5.1
- One-click native Picture-in-Picture: click the extension icon or press P to keep your video floating while you work.
- Separate caption-enabled Picture-in-Picture: open it from the right-click menu, toggle captions, and adjust their size. Improved caption synchronization for YouTube and Bilibili.
- Compact, movable settings: a cleaner design consistent with the Safari edition, opening in the bottom-right corner. Drag the title bar to reposition it.
- Faster keyboard access: press O to open or close settings, without automatically focusing the speed input.
- Instant speed selection: choose a preset to apply it immediately and close settings, or enter a custom playback speed.
- Improved video handover on Douyin’s Recommended, Search, and Curated feeds to reduce Picture-in-Picture remaining on the previous video.
- Keep snapshots, playback seeking, volume adjustment, and reverse frame stepping close at hand.
## Privacy & Permissions
Video processing and caption display happen locally. Personal information, browsing history, page content, videos, and captions are not uploaded to the developer. Caption visibility and size preferences are stored locally without cloud synchronization. Snapshots are saved only when requested.
Website access lets the extension detect videos and captions and respond to keyboard shortcuts. The extension uses `activeTab` and `scripting` for page actions, `contextMenus` for shortcut menus, and `storage` for local caption preferences.
No ads, analytics, tracking services, or remotely executed code. “Support Author” opens an external donation page only when clicked.
