The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Pidgey Assist: BYOK AI Sidebar
Pidgey Assist adds a private AI copilot to Chrome's side panel. Chat with any web
page, summarize long articles in one tap, and run cited research — all powered by
your own AI key, or your own local model. Nothing passes through our servers.
New to API keys? Pidgey walks you through getting a free one step by step, and
checks it works before you start. Prefer to keep everything on your machine?
Point it at Ollama or LM Studio and no data leaves your computer at all.
What it does:
• Current-page chat and one-tap summaries
• Deep Research with cited sources — web search needs no extra key
• Structured page extraction: facts, links, lists and tables
• BYOK: Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, or a local model (Ollama / LM Studio)
• Tab organization, comparison and switching
• Voice input
• A Backpack that saves pages and research as formatted reports you can reopen
• Long-term memory, form autofill and document exports
• Settings, notes and keys stored locally in Chrome storage
Free while Pidgey is in open beta. Every feature is unlocked — no card, no code,
no trial clock, nothing to buy. You bring your own AI key, and that is it.
Privacy: Pidgey is allowed onto sites one at a time. It never asks for access to
all sites at once, and you can revoke any site you have allowed from Settings. It
reads the tab you are on only when you invoke it. When you ask Pidgey to
summarize, research or extract data, that content goes directly from your browser
to the AI provider you chose, using your own key — it never passes through our
servers.
