About Permavault
Capture it before it changes or disappears.
A bookmark keeps a link. Permavault helps you keep what was there. Preserve a source for your reporting, a page for your case, or a reference for your research, directly from your browser.
Keep the page. Keep the proof.
- Capture pages through your own signed-in session, including subscription content you can access.
- Keep a portable web archive in your local library and download a copy for compatible replay tools. Local recording and export are free, with no account required.
- Choose permanent storage for the captures that matter. The archive and its proof are stored on Arweave, a decentralized network designed for permanence. Download the evidence package to check integrity without relying on Permavault's website.
- Permanent saves include a signed capture record. Independent timestamping through OpenTimestamps is included in the service; check History for storage and proof confirmation status.
Start in a few steps
Pin the extension, open your page, and start recording. To upload, sign in by email and approve the extension using its popup code. Review the storage choice first: eligible article saves upload automatically after recording; larger regular captures ask before spending.
Pay once for what you keep
- Article saves up to 10 MB: free temporary storage for 7 days, then $0.99 per regular save or $1.99 per private save to make permanent.
- Regular captures over 10 MB and up to 100 MB: $4.99 individually, with packs available.
- Larger supported regular captures: one size-based total, shown before payment.
No subscription. Unpaid temporary saves are deleted after 7 days. Local copies stay on this device until removed or the extension's data is cleared.
Choose who can read the stored copy
Regular uploads are readable by Permavault. Making them permanent publishes the readable archive; anyone with its location can read it, and it cannot be deleted. Record only material you are willing and entitled to publish.
Private article saves are locked before upload, so Permavault cannot open them on its own. Set up your Private Vault and save and check your Recovery Kit first. The local original remains readable on this device. Existence, approximate size, date and account association remain visible. Losing all working devices and the kit means losing access.
Recordings can be incomplete. Review the result before relying on it. The signed record attests receipt and sealing, not an independent visit to the source, authorship or truth. Recording starts only when you choose it. The popup reads the active tab's address and title.
