The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Perf Manager · Chrome Performance Manager
Local tab butler: side-panel usage, one-tap sleep & domain batch, auto policy, session snapshots, site cleanup. No analytics.
Detailed description
Perf Manager is a local Chrome side-panel extension for keeping heavy tab sets under control—without sending your browsing behavior to a server.
What you can do
• See system memory / CPU summaries and tab states (active, discarded, muted) in the side panel
• Worksets in one tap: keep the last N tabs, keep this window only, or discard everything except media
• Batch discard or close by domain
• Auto policy by idle time and memory threshold (discard is recommended; wake anytime)
• Protect pinned tabs, audible tabs, pages with unsaved forms, plus a host whitelist
• Save / restore workspace snapshots before you manually restart Chrome
• Track visited sites and clear Cookie / cache only when you choose
• Optional toolbar badge for memory or CPU; optional popup-window blocking (off by default)
About the numbers
Per-tab memory prefers Chrome process data when available. In some environments it falls back to cache and estimates—treat figures as guidance, not a lab instrument.
Privacy
Settings and records stay on your device by default. No behavior analytics upload. Site cleanup runs only when you trigger it.
Who it’s for
People who keep many tabs open and want a practical butler—not flashy claims, just local control.
