About Pairline — Interlinear Reader
Pairline turns ordinary web pages into a lightweight bilingual reading experience while keeping the original page as the visual focus.
Instead of replacing the page or creating separate translation cards, Pairline places smaller, quieter translations close beneath the corresponding source text, creating an interlinear reading style that feels more like annotations than a traditional translation overlay.
Pairline preserves the original typography, links, emphasis, lists, headings and paragraph structure as much as possible.
Key features:
• Keep the original text as the primary reading layer
• Display lightweight translations close beneath the source text
• Show translated headings as subtle subtitles
• Work across news sites, blogs, forums, Wikipedia, technical documentation and many dynamic web pages
• Support multiple languages on the same page
• Restore the original page when Pairline is turned off
• Use Chrome's on-device language detection and translation capabilities
The first time a language pair is used, Chrome may need to download local language resources. Availability depends on the browser version, device and language pair.
Pairline does not operate a cloud translation service and does not send page text to Pairline-owned servers.
