The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About PageNib — Web & PDF Annotation
PageNib brings a minimal, floating annotation toolbar to webpages and PDFs. Mark up online articles, draw on arXiv papers, and annotate PDFs from your device.
Free during early access. No account, credit card, or trial countdown required.
SIMPLE ANNOTATION TOOLS
• Draw with a pen or translucent marker.
• Choose your stroke width and color.
• Erase part of a stroke with three eraser sizes.
• Use a laser pointer for temporary marks that fade away.
• Undo, redo, or clear annotations.
• Show or hide the toolbar with the extension icon.
FOR WEBPAGES AND PDFs
Click PageNib on a regular webpage to start annotating directly on the page. For PDFs, the current version supports arXiv papers and files you select from your device.
The compact toolbar floats over your content without reserving an extra toolbar row.
KEEP YOUR WORK LOCAL
Annotations are saved locally in your browser profile. PDFs and webpage annotations are not uploaded to a PageNib server. No analytics or advertising SDK is included.
Webpage annotations store the page URL and a short text excerpt locally to help locate the annotated content when you return. Loading an arXiv paper requests the PDF from arxiv.org.
PDF EXPORT
Download an annotated PDF or export a PDF annotation backup. Webpage annotation export and annotation backup import are not currently available.
COMPATIBILITY
Browser-protected pages cannot be annotated. Webpage changes may affect annotation placement.
The experimental arXiv overlay attempts to keep the original page URL. If it is unavailable, alternative reader modes are available in Options.
Uninstalling PageNib or clearing its storage can remove saved annotations. Download important annotated PDFs before doing so.
