The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.

About PageMate: Full Page Screenshot & Blur Sensitive Info

Free screenshot extension for Chrome. Capture full page, visible area, a region, or one element, then blur or black out sensitive data automatically before you share it. PageMate captures any region, window, full page, or element on the page — then automatically blurs the sensitive bits before you share. It finds contact details, payment info, government ID numbers, and login credentials using real checksum validation under the hood, so you get accurate matches instead of a screen full of false positives. The full list of 25+ detectors is in the extension's own settings. EVERYTHING RUNS ON YOUR DEVICE PageMate has no server. Captures never leave your browser unless you explicitly export, copy, or download them. No analytics, no tracking, no account required. Works offline. 7 WAYS TO CAPTURE (screen capture, your way) - Drag-to-select region (Alt+Shift+Y) — hold Enter while releasing to save direct to disk - Quick snap full tab (Alt+Shift+G) — straight to Downloads - Full scrolling page — overlap-blend stitching, lazy-load pre-warm, sticky-element hiding - Choose Window — any monitor, app window, or Chrome tab via native picker - Pick Element — dev-tools-style hover picker, ↑/↓ to walk parent/child - Right-click element / scrollable area — context-menu shortcuts - 3-2-1 timer — on-page countdown for setting up the shot AUTO-REDACTION OUT OF THE BOX - 25+ built-in detectors covering emails, phone numbers, payment cards, API keys and access tokens, and IP addresses - Government ID numbers across several countries, validated so real numbers get caught without flagging random digit strings - Medical record and healthcare provider ID numbers - Domain profiles for WhatsApp chat list & payment-card fields - Form-field scanning (matches inside <input> / <textarea>) - Iframe + shadow-DOM aware — works on Gmail message bodies, Notion, Slack - Per-category toggles + per-domain whitelist for dev / docs sites POWERFUL EDITOR - Blackbox, pixelate, blur, highlight, arrow, line, numbered step, text, crop, insert image - Crop in any shape (rectangle, rounded, ellipse, circle) - 10 fonts, colour presets + recent colours, double-click to edit text - Konva alignment guides snap to image / annotation edges + centres - Show Original toggle to see the raw screenshot underneath - Hover any redaction to see "Email · high" / "Credit card · high" - Side panel lists every annotation — click to select, × to delete - Paste or drag-drop an external image to annotate it - Export PNG, JPG, WebP, or single-page PDF; copy to clipboard - Undo/redo crops + every annotation through one history stack HISTORY GALLERY The most recent 10 captures are saved locally (IndexedDB) — re-open any of them in the editor. Unlimited history is a Pro feature. KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS (rebindable in chrome://extensions/shortcuts) - Alt+Shift+R: open popup - Alt+Shift+Y: capture region - Alt+Shift+G: quick snap (full tab → disk) - Alt+Shift+E: re-open last capture in editor UPGRADE TO PRO ($4/mo, $39/yr, $49 lifetime — coming soon) - AI face blur (on-device, no data uploaded) - OCR redaction for pixel text inside screenshots - Custom regex categories (your project codenames, internal URLs, etc.) - Pre-share scan dialog with per-redaction toggles - Multi-page PDF export - Watermark uploader - Unlimited capture history - Cloud share links (encrypted, optional) PRIVACY PageMate is offline by default. The Free tier makes zero outbound network calls — full audit in the privacy policy linked below. Pro adds one call: license-key validation against our payment provider every 24 hours. ABOUT "Read and change all your data on all websites" Chrome will show this permission string when you install PageMate. It sounds alarming, but it's the same string shown for every password manager, ad blocker, screenshot tool, and translator on the Web Store. Chrome can't customize the wording per extension. What it lets PageMate do: • Read visible text on the page during a capture, so the auto-redactor can find emails / cards / SSNs / API keys before they end up in your screenshot. • Inject a small (~40 KB) content script that draws the region picker, element picker, and full-page-capture overlays. What PageMate does NOT do with this permission: ❌ Send your page content anywhere (Free tier = zero outbound calls) ❌ Read your cookies (we don't request the `cookies` permission) ❌ Read your browsing history (we don't request `history`) ❌ Watch your network traffic (we don't request `webRequest`) ❌ Read your bookmarks, passwords, or identity ❌ Track you across sites — no analytics, no telemetry, no server Compare what PageMate asks for vs other popular screenshot tools: PageMate → 3 user-visible permissions Awesome Screenshot → also requests `tabs`, `webRequest` FireShot → also requests `tabs` Loom → also requests `webNavigation`, `tabs`, mic, camera PERMISSIONS, in plain English - activeTab + scripting: capture the current tab + run the in-page scanner - storage: remember settings + recent colours + (Pro) license key - downloads: save exported screenshots to your Downloads folder - desktopCapture: power the "Choose Window" mode (native source picker) - contextMenus: add the right-click PageMate submenu - webNavigation: enumerate the tab's frames at capture time so redaction reaches cross-origin iframes - host_permissions <all_urls>: so the auto-redactor can scan visible text on any site you trigger a capture on. See "About 'Read and change…'" above for the full plain-English version. Built by an indie dev in Nepal. Bug reports & feature requests welcome. This screenshot tool is free to install, with Pro features optional coming soon.
