About Ordinance Seeker
Ordinance Seeker helps members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints find ancestors and descendants in their own FamilySearch tree who have temple ordinances ready to reserve.
Instead of opening each family in your tree one at a time, Ordinance Seeker looks through your tree for you and saves everyone with ordinances you can actually request, saving you hours of work.
Features:
• Looks through your own FamilySearch tree, ancestors or descendants, from any starting person
• Saves only people with ordinances ready to reserve, and skips ordinances already reserved by others, possible duplicates and people who need a close relative's permission
• Shows exactly which ordinances are ready for each person: B, C, I, E, SP and SS
• Open Tree takes you straight to that person's family card on FamilySearch
• Recheck Search updates older lists and offers to remove names that are no longer ready
• Keep separate named searches for each family line, with name counts
• Pause, end or resume a search right where you left off
• Results sync to the cloud, so they're available on all your devices
• Export any search to a spreadsheet (CSV)
• Dark mode
How to use:
1. Open any person's landscape tree view on FamilySearch
2. Click the Ordinance Seeker icon in your toolbar
3. Choose "Search Ancestors" or "Search Descendants"
4. Ordinance Seeker goes through your tree. Pause or end the search any time
5. Open Saved Searches to review your results and click Open Tree to reserve
