The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.

About No Shorts

No Shorts hides YouTube Shorts across the site and, if you want it, replaces the Subscriptions page with a strict chronological feed of every channel you follow. No Shorts (on by default) • Hides Shorts shelves, tabs, chips, and video cards on Home, Search, Watch, channel pages, and more • Removes the Shorts entry from the sidebar All Subscriptions (off by default) • Rebuilds /feed/subscriptions as a newest-first grid of real uploads • Pulls from every subscribed channel, not YouTube’s truncated mix • Keeps Shorts out of that list • Lets you filter by YouTube category (News, Science & Technology, Music, and so on) Nothing leaves your browser except requests to YouTube itself. Settings and a local cache stay in Chrome storage on your machine.
