The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Multi Highlighter
============================
Detailed Description
============================
[Main Features]
- Register multiple keywords, one per line
- Change the highlight color for each keyword
- Highlight keywords, display match counts, and navigate between matches across an entire tab, including same-origin and cross-origin iframes
- Turn automatic highlighting on or off when navigating between pages
- Use case-sensitive matching, whole-word matching, and regular expression searches
- Switch the interface language between Japanese and English
[Data Handling]
Keywords, colors, search settings, and the interface language are stored locally in the browser.
Page content is accessed in memory only while highlighting and is not stored.
Keywords, settings, page content, and browsing URLs are not sent to external servers. The extension does not include analytics or tracking.
Saved settings can be removed using "Clear Data" in the side panel.
[Limitations]
- The extension works with DOM text and cannot directly highlight canvas-based content, such as Google Sheets.
- After duplicates are removed, up to 50 keywords are supported. Each keyword can contain up to 200 characters, with a maximum total input length of 10,000 characters.
- Regular expression mode does not support nested quantifiers or backreferences.
- Tabs that were already open before the extension was installed or updated cannot be highlighted until the page is reloaded. The side panel shows a reload prompt in this case.
[Version History]
- v1.2.3
Revised the default highlight colors for better readability and moved yellow, which Chrome's find-in-page also uses, to the end of the color order. Fixed an issue where a keyword added after removing another keyword could get the same color as an existing keyword.
- v1.2.2
Removed the no-longer-needed scripting permission. Fixed errors logged right after page navigation, added a reload prompt for pages that need to be reloaded, and made highlighting more efficient on large pages.
- v1.2.1
Added English localization for the Chrome Web Store listing and fixed an issue that could prevent automatic highlighting after page navigation.
- v1.2.0
Added support for same-origin and cross-origin iframes, integrated match counts and navigation across the entire tab, and added support for dynamically updated content.
- v1.1.0
Added a keyboard shortcut for showing and hiding the side panel.
- v1.0.0
Initial release.
