About msearch
msearch is a keyboard-driven command palette for Chrome, inspired by Arc's command bar. Press one shortcut, start typing, and reach anything in your browser from a single box.
WHAT IT FINDS
• Open tabs – switch to any tab by typing part of its title or URL
• Recently closed tabs – bring back what you just closed
• History and bookmarks – reopen pages without leaving the keyboard
• Web search – type a query and press Enter to search with Google, DuckDuckGo or Bing
• URLs – type a domain like example.com and get a "Go to" row
• Browser commands – new tab, close tab, reopen closed tab, duplicate tab, reload, pin or unpin, mute or unmute, copy URL, bookmark this page, new incognito window
HOW IT WORKS
• Shortcut: Cmd+Shift+K on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+K on Windows and Linux (change it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts)
• Empty box shows your most recent tabs
• Arrow keys or Tab to move, Enter to open, Cmd/Ctrl+Enter to open in a new tab, Esc to close
• Click outside the palette to dismiss it
• The palette renders in an isolated frame, so site styles never leak in and site shortcuts never fire while you type
SETTINGS
Right-click the extension icon and choose Options to pick your search engine and turn search suggestions on or off.
PRIVACY
msearch has no analytics, tracking or ads. Tabs, history and bookmarks are read locally on your device and never leave your browser. The only network request is for search suggestions, which sends the text you type to Google and can be switched off in Options.
