The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About MrGrammar
Free grammar correction in any text box in your browser. Highlight the text, right-click or press a shortcut, and the corrected version replaces it in place. No account, no API key, nothing to set up.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Select the text you want to fix.
2. Right-click and choose "Fix Grammar with AI", or press Ctrl+Shift+E (Cmd+Shift+E on Mac).
3. A small "Fixing grammar" pill appears while the text is processed, usually for about a second.
4. The selection is replaced with the corrected text.
Spelling, grammar and punctuation are fixed. Your word choice, tone and style are left alone.
WHERE IT WORKS
Most websites with an ordinary text box, comment field or editor, including webmail such as Gmail and team chat tools. A few popular email and messaging sites use custom editors, so the extension includes specific support for those and is ready as soon as the page loads there. On any other site it only touches the page when you invoke it.
FREE, WITH NO SETUP
The extension holds no keys and you never pay anything. Corrections are produced by Google Gemini through a small server we run, with Groq as a backup when Gemini is unavailable. The free service allows 10 corrections a minute and 200 a day per person.
PRIVACY
Text leaves your browser only when you ask for a correction. It is not stored anywhere and is never tied to you. There are no accounts, no sign in, no cookies, no advertising and no analytics. Full policy: https://github.com/Saleep24/MrGrammar/blob/main/PRIVACY.md
KNOWN LIMITATIONS
Google Docs is not supported, because Docs draws its text on a canvas rather than as regular page text. Some heavily customised editors can reject outside changes, in which case you will see "Couldn't replace the text" and can retry. Selections are capped at 10,000 characters.
