MoReader - EPUB & PDF Reader

MoReader is a clean, privacy-first EPUB and PDF reader for Chrome with built-in text to speech. Open a book and read or listen to it in a comfortable, fully customizable page, with sentence-level audio sync, bilingual layouts and chapter study tools. No account, no ads, no analytics. READING - EPUB books, reflowable with full typography control: font family, size, line spacing, margins and letter spacing. - PDF documents, in their original layout. - Phonetic annotations: Pinyin and Furigana ruby text stay aligned above the characters. - Four themes: light, sepia, eye-care green and dark. - Works on Chrome and ChromeOS, including Chromebooks. PDF - Open PDFs in their original layout with zoom, fit-to-page and smooth scrolling. - Image-based and scanned PDFs render correctly, including textbooks and older documents. - Select any text to hear it read aloud or translate it. - Convert a PDF into a clean, reflowable EPUB for comfortable reading and listening. READ ALOUD - Dual-layer sync: the current paragraph is highlighted while the sentence being spoken lights up. - Turn any EPUB or PDF into an audiobook you can follow word by word. - Choose browser voices for offline TTS, or natural neural cloud voices. - Speech speed from 0.5x to 2.0x. - Ruby annotations, brackets and citation markers are cleaned before they are spoken. - Click any sentence to start listening from exactly there. STUDY TOOLS - Chapter summaries at the depth you choose. - Bilingual reading: side by side, original only, or translation only. - Character relationship maps and plot timelines. - Chapter review questions with explanations. - Export notes and summaries as EPUB or PDF. - Generated content is cached locally, so it opens instantly next time. SYNC (OPTIONAL) - Synchronize reading progress, bookmarks and highlights over WebDAV: Nextcloud, Nutstore or your own server. - Requests go only to the servers you configure, and always over HTTPS. YOUR BOOKS STAY YOURS - Library, reading progress, bookmarks and notes are stored in your browser. No tracking, no analytics. Note: TTS narration uses your browser's built-in speech engine by default and works offline. A cloud narration endpoint can be configured in settings.
