About monerochan wallet
This is open source software. The source can be found on GitHub. You can build the extension yourself. Explanation for the permissions:
Host permission
The content script has to run on ordinary web pages so it can catch a send tool link. That link is a request to pay an address. The click does not leave
the page. The request shows up in the wallet, and the coins move only after you accept it in the side panel.
sidePanel
The wallet is in the side panel. The toolbar button opens it. A send tool link opens it too, so the payment request is there for you to accept or refuse.
tabs
Used only for the wallet’s own action log tab. The extension can find that tab, focus it, or close it. It does not read other sites’ tabs.
offscreen
The service worker cannot keep the scan running. An offscreen document runs the wallet worker that talks to your node and scans outputs. The cache stays on your machine.
unlimitedStorage
Wallet files, the scan cache, and the action log are stored on disk in the browser. That data gets bigger than the normal extension quota.
Remote code
Nothing is downloaded and executed from a server. The WebAssembly that scans and builds transactions is inside the extension package. This is open
source software, so you can build the package yourself.
Detailed build information
This extension is completely open source.
During the build process of the wallet library the open source rust code is compiled to wasm.

To not introduce assumptions around the library consumer build process the worker url is turned into a base64 string. Base64 is an encoding and it is valid to use it for this purpose here.

checksums are created during the build process which can be verified against the build artifacts.Detailed build instructions for the library can be found here: https://github.com/monerochan-ecosystem/monero-wallet-api/blob/master/typescript/README.md
Build instructions for the wallet that uses this library as a dependency can be found here: https://github.com/monerochan-ecosystem/monerochan-wallet/blob/master/README.md
