Service Overview This Chrome extension was developed in response to recent incidents of deepfake abuse involving acquaintances. The aim is to provide a solution for individuals hesitant to upload their photos to social media due to privacy concerns and potential misuse. How to Use 1. Users can upload their own photos (or photos of others they want to protect) through the extension’s popup window. 2. The deep learning model connected to this extension applies an adversarial attack technique, embedding subtle noise into the image that is invisible to the human eye. 2.1 This noise prevents deepfake models from recognizing or correctly interpreting the face, thereby disrupting the synthesis process. 3. The altered image is provided as a preview to the user, who can then download or copy the protected image for further use. 4. Users can click on the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the popup window to visit TruthGuard's website and explore other services, such as deepfake detection tools. Expected Impact With this extension, users can confidently upload their photos to social media without fear of them being misused for deepfake purposes. Our goal is to alleviate the current situation where people feel compelled to remove their photos due to deepfake threats. Security This extension does not use any uploaded images for model training purposes, ensuring complete privacy for all user photos.
