About Media Downloader

🎧 Media Downloader β€” Video to MP3, straight from the page you are on Some videos are worth watching once; the audio is the part you keep. A live set, a podcast episode, a lecture you need again the night before an exam. This extension lifts the sound out of a supported video page and hands you a finished file β€” an MP3 by default, or another format if you prefer β€” named after the track, tagged, and carrying cover art where the page supplies it. It all happens from the toolbar button: no website to visit, no address to paste into a box, nothing to install. πŸ” COMING FROM A CONVERTER SITE? If you have been using online converter pages, the routine will be familiar: copy the address, open another tab, paste it in, wait for a queue, then pick the real download button out of the fakes. This extension takes those steps out β€” you stay on the page you were already watching, and your MP3 lands in the downloads folder like any other download. Media Downloader is an independent tool built by our own team. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any converter website, and it is not connected to any video platform. 🎚️ PICK THE FORMAT, PICK THE BITRATE Converter pages tend to hand you one MP3 at one bitrate. Here the choice is yours, and the panel remembers it for next time: β€’ MP3 β€” the universal one. Car stereos, older players, cheap earbuds with a card slot: everything reads it. β€’ M4A β€” what Apple devices are happiest with, and a little more efficient at the same bitrate. β€’ OPUS β€” the smallest file for a given quality, worth picking when the phone is nearly full. β€’ WAV β€” uncompressed and large, meant for editing rather than listening on the move. Lossy output runs up to 320 kbps, so an MP3 saved here is as detailed as the source stream allows. 🏷️ FILES THAT LOOK RIGHT IN YOUR PLAYER A folder full of video_1.mp3 is not a library. Where the source provides them, the title, artist and cover image are written into the file itself, so your player shows a proper square, not a grey placeholder. MP3, M4A and OPUS carry artwork this way; WAV does not, a limit of the format, not of the extension. Names come from the original title, so a growing collection stays organized on its own. βœ‚οΈ TRIM IT, OR TAKE THE WHOLE PLAYLIST Set a start and an end time and only that stretch is saved: one chorus out of a nine-minute live version, the single answer you need from a long interview, thirty seconds of rain for a video project. The rest is never fetched, so the MP3 is small and the wait is short. Point it at a playlist instead and it works down the list track by track, saving each one under its own name and tags β€” an album, a podcast season, or the mix a friend keeps promising to send you. 🎬 WHAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY USE IT FOR β€’ Learning a song by ear β€” the same eight bars on repeat from an MP3 on a phone with no signal β€’ Conference talks and seminars kept long after the stream disappears β€’ Language practice: one ten-minute clip played over and over on the commute β€’ Backing tracks, room tone and short samples for editing projects β€’ Your favorite mixes in one folder instead of six open browser tabs πŸ–±οΈ STEP BY STEP 1️⃣ Open the supported video page you want the audio from. 2️⃣ Click the Media Downloader icon in your toolbar. The panel opens with the audio option selected. 3️⃣ Choose a format β€” MP3 unless you have a reason not to β€” plus a bitrate and any trim points. 4️⃣ Press Download. A live percentage and an estimated time remaining show where the job stands. 5️⃣ The finished file saves to your downloads folder. Play it anywhere, offline. βš™οΈ WHERE THE WORK HAPPENS Conversion runs on our own servers rather than on your machine: the fan stays quiet and a two-hour recording becomes an MP3 without freezing the tab. Optimized servers keep the queue moving at busy hours, and the extension sits idle until you click it. A transfer that hits a temporary problem is retried automatically, and finished files are deleted from our servers shortly after they reach you. 🚫 WHAT IT WILL NOT DO β€’ It cannot work with services that encrypt their streams: subscription film and TV platforms are out of reach by design. β€’ It does not record your screen, your microphone or your tabs, and it does nothing at all on pages where you have not pressed the button. β€’ It cannot turn a poor source into a good file. Audio can be converted, not invented. β€’ It is not a way around anyone's terms of service: save what you own or have permission to keep. πŸ’Ž FREE AND PREMIUM A number of conversions are free, so you can find out whether it fits the way you work before spending anything. If you need more, an optional Premium upgrade lifts the limit. The price is shown before you commit, nothing is charged quietly, and unused free conversions stay yours. πŸ” PRIVACY, IN PLAIN WORDS To run the service and protect it from abuse, the extension creates a random installation ID β€” a number, not a name β€” and sends the address of the page you chose to our servers so the audio can be fetched and converted. Those servers record that ID, your IP address and simple counters such as how many files you have made; rate limiting and abuse prevention run on exactly that. Your browsing history is not collected, and the extension acts only on pages where you press the button yourself. Premium payments are handled by our billing provider. What is stored, how long it is kept and who processes it are set out in the Privacy Policy, linked from this listing and from the settings page. 🌍 LANGUAGES AND BROWSERS The interface is available in ten languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Turkish and Russian. It runs on Chrome and the other Chromium browsers: Edge, Brave, Opera and Vivaldi. βœ… IN SHORT βœ… Audio saved from the page you are on β€” no converter site, no pasted links βœ… Four formats β€” MP3, M4A, OPUS and WAV β€” at up to 320 kbps βœ… Cover art, title and artist written into the file βœ… Trim to the…
